One thing you can be assured of is that we did beacon all the time. We moved the beam quite often beaming
South America, Caribbean, North America, Europe and the Middle East.

GRID SQUARE
Our grid square was IK13ql
EQUIPMENT
K3 with pre-amp, M2 1000, 28 foot boom yagi with rotor and LMR 400. Our antenna was about
20 feet high looking out over the ocean toward Europe. We had a small amount of land before the ocean to SA and NA.
On HF we used dipoles, K3, and ACOM 1000.
HF OPERATION
There was concurrent HF operation on RTTY by N0QJM and W0OE while we are on 6 meters. They were on 17 and 20 meters.
There was some CW and SSB operation while beaconing on six meters./h3>
TWO METER OPERATION
There was a lot of two meter beaconing but we only worked one station who was in the Cape Verde Islands.
QSL INFORMATION
QSL VIA W7XU. DX QSL cards need $2.00 and a SAE or current IRC's.
USA cards should have an SASE. These Africa trips are extremely expensive. Contributions to defray
expenses can be sent with the QSL card.
